I was born up north, Chicago to be exact. We lived there and in Chicago Heights and Sauk Village. I am the third child out of eight (five girls and three boys, one whom died in infancy right before my birth).
We moved to rural Mississippi in 1974. I've been here ever since even though my siblings have danced around the map a little. I am content to stay near my parents. It's NOT the typical "Let's move into Ma and Pa's back yard" kind of near the parents, though. I likes me space, in that regard.
I am free, white and over twenty-five (way over), as they say 'round these parts. That sounds racist and probably is in some way but is not meant to be on my part.
I am married for the third and last time, God willing, to my soul mate, Alan. I have two boys, Jonathan and Brandon who are in their early twenties. Jonathan is studying to be a social worker, following in his Aunt's footsteps. Brandon is in the Marines and serving our country over seas in Okinawa, Japan. I am proud of both of them.
It's funny they should go the way they are since I started doing what each of them ARE doing and never finished. I went to college for two years but didn't get a degree in anything and I was in ROTC while in college. That's Reserved Officer Training Corp for anyone not familiar with the term.
I am a factory worker in a plant that makes elevators. NOT a glamorous job or (in my position) one that requires any education beyond a high school diploma. It does have it's ups and downs. Saw that one coming from a mile away, din't ya?
I don't really want to work there until retirement age but don't know what I want to be "when I grow up". So, for the moment anyway, I am there and there I'll be.
I like reading, scrapbooking, flower gardening (even though my green thumb is more like a brown thumb), facebook, farmville on facebook, and some other stuff, too, but I forget what it is at the moment...I'll have to get back to you on that.
I have wanted to start a blog for a long time. I don't know why, maybe it'll come to me. I am may get bored with this soon and drop it. I may get discouraged if no one follows my posts. I do want to keep it fresh and keep it interesting to many people. Mostly, I would like to bring a smile to your face at least once. If I have done that, then I can say "job well done".
Until tomorrow....
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Me and you is friends...
You smile, I smile...
You hurt, I hurt...
You cry, I cry...
You jump off a bridge...
I'm gonna miss you.
SITE OF THE DAY
iFunny is a great app that has provided me with lots of laughs and caused me to cram my camera roll on my iPhone with WAY too many stupids pics. You can view it on the web here http://ifunny.mobi/ One note of caution, however, some pics and posts are a little racy and some can be a little vulgar. So if you have small children, you will want to look at the posts before they do. Enjoy!
TRIVIA OF THE DAY
